If you are having trouble opening Guardian Control Panel, but not getting any error messages, look to make sure there is only one copy of Guardian Control Panel open. To do this, bring up Windows Task Manager by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to bring up the task manager. Select the “processes” tab and click on the word Image Name to sort the list by name. Look for GCP.exe. If there is more than one occurrence of GCP.exe this is probably why the program won’t open. Select anything that says GCP.exe, right click on the name, and select End Process Tree from the menu.
Once you have ended the process tree all instances of GCP in the processes tab should be gone. Close Task Manager and try to open GCP once again from the shortcut on your desktop.
