The Trusted zone is a list of objects that are excluded from scan scope of Kaspersky Anti-Virus. You can form the trusted zone by various settings. Depending on the objective, your list may be composed of objects included in:

Exclusion rules
Trusted applications

Exclusion rules are conditions under which an object is not scanned by the application. In Kaspersky Internet Security, you can create exclusion rules for the following components:

File Anti-Virus
Mail Anti-Virus
Scan
System Watcher
An exclusion rule can be created by two parameters:

File or folder. You can specify the name of a file, folder, or a mask for object names.
Object. You can specify a type of classification for the detected object based on the Virus Encyclopedia or a mask for classification types.

  1. Open Kaspersky Anti-Virus
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on ‘Additional’ on the left.
  4. Click on ‘Threats and Exclusions’ on the right.
  5. Click on ‘Configure exclusion rules’.
  6. Click on the ‘Add’ button.
  7. Click on the ‘Browse…’ button.
  8. Navigate to the folder you want to exclude and click the ‘OK’ button.
  9. Leave the ‘Object’ field blank to exclude all detections in that folder.
  10. Optionally, you can enter a ‘Rule comment’.
  11. Click on the ‘Add’ button.
  12. Close the ‘Exclusion rules’ window.
  13. Click the Back arrow in the upper left twice to return to the main window.
